YARN UNIT spring 2012

Wandering about the streets of New Dehli, one can not ignore the extraordinary contrast between the wealth of colours and fabrics covering women’s bodies and the roughness of the urban landscape.
From New Dehli to Rajasthan, the scope of colours and impressions only broadens, and the eye of the westerner is soaked in light and ornament. There is maybe no influence further from YARN UNIT’s initial culture of minimalistic luxury than the Indian visual persona, and yet that distance is fascinating.
For its spring 2012 collection, YARN UNIT absorbs these contrasts and delivers a collection of refined signature pieces executed in delicate fabrics and exquisite detailing, playing with rich colours shading, and tinted with elements of Indian design.
Pleated cotton cashmere combining layered trims and hidden contrast colours details, generous cotton tape yarn with a subtle faded dye, extra-fine crochet dresses and skirts, washed french terry pieces with a discreet colour twist, striped jersey draped tunics, de-constructed linen tops and sweaters.
Ink, dusk, cardamon, tangerine, ginger, slate, pebble, white, sand, sky.
